F rom an early age, I've been fascinated with creating pictures. Whether it was with traditional hand charcoal drawings or with oil paintings, I aspired to capture what I saw around me. With time, my interest evolved into using both the camera and the computer medium to create images. This eventually led me on my journey to pursue an academic degree in computer engineering with a primary focus in computer graphics.
I have over 20 years of experience working on cinematics for both computer graphic animated films and games. My credits include 14 animated feature films and multiple AAA game titles. My contribution as a lighting artist includes films and games such as Shrek, Madagascar, NFL Madden football, and Star Wars. Working in a fast pace production environment alongside some of the best art directors in the industry has been an extrememly rewarding and enlightnening experience.
L ighting is my passion but I have been fortunate to have participated in other parts of the film pipeline as well, including previz animation blocking and environment set dressing. This has further enhanced my lighting skills, allowing me to better understand the importance that lighting plays in the narrative and the impact it has on storytelling.
M y interest as an artist lies in the broad genre of Feature Film, Games, and Photography. As an avid photographer for many years, my interest in the artistic and technical aspects of images extends to post production and the many ways to enhance, process, and retouch images. I'm also an image and video contributer for several stock photography sites.
